Habitat for Humanity Workday Recap
3/11/06
|
There were many workers (apostles) from Evergreen on
Saturday, March 11th at Siler City to assist LaToya
Taylor build her new home. Once again we were
blessed with a dry, beautiful sunny day. The
crew installed cabinets and counter tops,
subflooring, did some painting, and completed some
finishing touches on the exterior of the house.
Those present were: Loren Watterson, Darrell and
Rachel Kohr, Herman and Mary Kay, Bob Andrews, David
Applegate, Gene Jackson, Nathan and David Bryant,
and Stan Koziol. LaToya was there with two Americorp
volunteers, plus Manuel, her new neighbor.
Carolyn Watterson was the caterer for lunch with
assistance from Jimmy and Julie. Huge hero
sandwiches with an assortment of chips, vegetables,
fruits, side dishes and drinks went well with the
shared fellowship. Marion Haywood prepared dessert
for everyone to share. LaToya asked me to once
again convey her gratitude to the whole Church for
our support. Our scheduled workdays have been
completed, but we will be on call for any special
project and for the dedication.
