Pastor Jeff Nash and Family

On June 26, 2005, Evergreen welcomed the new pastor, Jeff Nash and his family. Jeff was born in
Toledo, Ohio and lived in Adrian, Michigan until the age of 12. His family then moved to Maggie
Valley, North Carolina. He graduated from Tuscola Senior High in Waynesville. He then
attended UNC-Chapel Hill and graduated in 1988 with a BA in Political Science.
He and his wife LaDeane were married in 1988. They lived in Durham and Wilmington where he worked
in financial services. He began studies at Duke Divinity School in 2000 receiving a Masters of
Divinity in 2003. Their children Elizabeth and Jessica were born April 11, 2001. As a pastor
he has served at Hampstead UMC in Hampstead, North Carolina and Queen Street UMC in Kinston, North
Carolina.
At his first service at Evergreen, Jeff asked "How do we welcome Christ?" "We welcome Christ by
welcoming the envoys of Christ. And who represents Christ - the poor, the oppressed and those in
need."
Jeff has called us as a community to show radical hospitality.
