Pastor Jeff Nash and Family
On June 26, 2005, Evergreen welcomed the new pastor, Jeff Nash and his family.  Jeff was born in Toledo, Ohio and lived in Adrian, Michigan until the age of 12.  His family then moved to Maggie Valley, North Carolina.  He graduated from Tuscola Senior High in Waynesville.  He then attended UNC-Chapel Hill and graduated in 1988 with a BA in Political Science.

He and his wife LaDeane were married in 1988.  They lived in Durham and Wilmington where he worked in financial services.  He began studies at Duke Divinity School in 2000 receiving a Masters of Divinity in 2003.  Their children Elizabeth and Jessica were born April 11, 2001.  As a pastor he has served at Hampstead UMC in Hampstead, North Carolina and Queen Street UMC in Kinston, North Carolina.

At his first service at Evergreen, Jeff asked "How do we welcome Christ?"  "We welcome Christ by welcoming the envoys of Christ.  And who represents Christ - the poor, the oppressed and those in need."

Jeff has called us as a community to show radical hospitality.
